Alpha
The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and non-threatening setting over 10 thought-provoking weekly sessions. Alpha is low-key, friendly and fun – and is supported by all the main Christian denominations. The course is appreciated by all that enroll, whether they are investigating the Christian faith for the first time or are taking another look at the faith. Even long time members of the church appreciate this experience.
Each weekly session begins with an informal supper, followed by a large-group learning time. We discuss such topics as: "Who is Jesus?" "Why did Jesus die?" "How can I be sure of my faith?" "Does God still heal today?” Each session ends with small-group discussion and interaction.
The next Alpha course will be held at the church on Monday evenings beginning January 11th. Sessions begin with a meal at 6:0 0 pm and end at 8:30 pm. We hope to provide childcare.

TESTIMONIALS
“Alpha is a great course for anyone who might be intimidated by Bible study groups. The course is refreshingly simple and engaging. I ended the course feeling a renewed motivation to strengthen my relationship with Christ!” -- Lotus Wollschlager
“Alpha, what an awesome experience! God has blessed me and directed me to Resurrection Lutheran Church and to Alpha. Through the eleven week Alpha course I took the time to reacquaint myself with God's love and reopen the door into my Christian life. Losing my son recently to a traumatic death has been a harrowing episode in my life and created a crisis in my faith. I questioned why a loving God could allow this to happen. Yet, through Alpha I discovered God's gifts, even in the face of unspeakable tragedy--gifts of friendship, compassion and wise and caring facilitators. When I left Alpha on Sunday evenings my shoulders felt lighter and a space opened within me for vestiges of grief to escape. I thank God for my own healing and remember that grief and what it teaches can also be a beginning”. -- Ginny Lee
“The Alpha course was a wonderful journey for me. It was a great adult “beginning” (because I don't remember much from confirmation!), and it opened many doors for me to develop my faith. I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to ask any questions about the Bible and the Faith. It helped me grow spiritually and refocus my energies as I continue opening doors in my Christian life. No matter where you are in your walk with Christ, Alpha is great!” -- Marie Garbe
THE MARRIAGE COURSE
The Marriage Course led by Chuck and Beth Wright is offered once a year and will meet in a home on Sunday evenings, 6:00 – 8:30 pm beginning January 31. We are able to accommodate five couples. This practical course gives any married couple the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over seven evenings spent together, couples talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.
Topics covered include:
Building Strong Foundations
The Art of Communication
Resolving Conflict,
The Power of Forgiveness
Parents and In-laws
Good Sex,
Love in Action
Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else.
What’s involved?
Each evening is about a two and one-half hour commitment of time. It begins with dessert and beverage; then a talk is followed by an opportunity to discuss a topic together as a couple. The setting is welcoming, relaxed and non-threatening.
Who is the course for?
The Marriage Course is for any married couple who wants to build a strong and lasting relationship. It is beneficial and enjoyable for those whose marriage is already strong. It also helps couples who are going through difficulties; they are able to re-open communication in a guided and constructive way.
While based on Christian principles, the course is very helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background.
If you are interested in The Marriage Course, please contact the Alpha Director, Ron Freimark.

the hustle and bustle of a busy life. Whether it is the
photos that need to be sorted, knitting started last
year, thank you cards not yet finished, or a scrapbook
that never ends, we have space and time for you to come,
relax, and work on them. Bring a friend!

encourage one another in all aspects of parenting and
gain spiritual growth through Bible studies and
devotions. Mom’s

Thursdays of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
During the school year Mom's

area parks.

get-away offers women time for spiritual and physical
renewal away from the demands of daily life. Normally
