Men’s Golf League Forming The Resurrection Men’s Golf League is forming for the 2008 season. The league will meet Monday evenings starting on June 2nd at Prestwick Golf Club with our first tee time at approximately 5:30 p.m. Nine hole rounds are played every week and we compete in a two man match play format. The league has its own handicap system and players of all abilities are encouraged to join. If your game is a little rusty, you will love our 4 over par rule! The annual league fee is $50 and the weekly greens fees are $22. To sign up, contact Chuck Wright or 730-1000 Community Volunteer Opportunities Resurrection has been invited to join a community effort to give away additional food during this time of economic stress. If you would like to help distribute a truck load of food during the afternoon/evening of Wednesday, June 11, contact Stacy LeMay or call 651-730-1000. Location: Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Also, if you would like to be informed about additional volunteer opportunities in our community, add your name and e-mail to a new distribution list in the lobby. Some tasks will be for adults and some for families. Communication will be coordinated by Stacy LeMay, our representative to the Christian Cupboard. These e-mails would be sent a few times per year. Church Picnic ~ Sunday, May 25 Welcome the start of summer and join us for a church picnic following the 10:30 a.m. outdoor worship service on Sunday, May 25. We’ll fire up the grills 15 minutes following the service. Please bring a side dish, dessert or chips to share. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided. Contact Pastor Ted to help set up tables or to grill. Men’s Discussion Group An eight-week men’s discussion group will be held weekly on Tuesdays beginning June 3rd from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Faith Outfitters. We will be using the Wild at Heart series by John Eldredge as an introduction to discuss spiritual issues facing contemporary men. The group will primarily be an open-discussion format, sharing personal experiences related to the subject matter. You are invited to join a group of assembly volunteers at church on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 p.m. Stop by for any amount of time to help stuff and address envelopes. If you are available and interested in helping contact Sue Finney or 730-1000. Senior Life Fellowship Seniors of Resurrection will meet for Bible Study this Wednesday, May 14th at 2:30 p.m. in the Student LIFE Center. Retired members and others who are free that afternoon are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring a friend! Coffee and fellowship will follow. Men’s Bible Study/Breakfast All men are invited to join us this Saturday, May 17th at 8:00 a.m. in the Student LIFE Center for breakfast, fellowship & Bible study. Women's Morning Bible Study Join us on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. for study and fellowship. We are currently discussing Growing in Wisdom & Faith, the Book of James, by author Elizabeth George.
