Book Discussion Group

Book TalkLove to read? Would you like to engage in faith conversations sparked by thought-provoking books? Join other adults for Book Talk to discuss a range of both nonfiction and fiction works.

A different title will be discussed each month, with participants selecting the title and location for the next gathering. Come to one book talk or every one, depending on your schedule and your interests. The summer book title is Galileo's Daughter, by Dava Sobel. A description of this novel says, "moving betweenGalileo's grand public life and Maria Celeste's sequestered world, Sobel illuminates the Florence of the Medicis and the papal court in Rome during the pivotal era when humanity's perception of its place in the cosmos was about to be overturned. During that same time, while the bubonic plague wreaked its terrible devastation and the Thirty Years' War tipped fortunes across Europe, Galileo sought to reconcile the Heaven he revered as a good Catholic with the heavens he revealed through his telescope. Filled with human drama and scientific adventure,Galileo's Daughter is an unforgettable story."

Join the discussion on Wednesday, August 9 at 7 pm at the DeBruzzi home. Contact Sarah Storvick, Beth DeBruzzi, or Kari Bjorhus for more information.
