Book Discussion Group

Book TalkLove to read? Would you like to engage in faith conversations sparked by thought-provoking books? Join other adults for Book Talk to discuss a range of both nonfiction and fiction works.

A different title will be discussed each month, with participants selecting the title and location for the next gathering. Come to one book talk or every one, depending on your schedule and your interests.

The September book title is Born A Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, by Trevor Noah. A summary of this apartheid-era memoir says, "Born A Crime is the story of a mischievous young boy who grows into a restless young man as he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist. It is also the story of that young man's relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother--his teammate, a woman determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life."

Join the discussion on Monday, September 25 at 7 pm at the Sortland home. Contact Sarah Storvick, Beth DeBruzzi, or Kari Bjorhus for more information.
